Colleen Vandeventer

Colleen Vandeventer studied at the Museum of Fine Art School in the early 80’s after leaving a career in business and starting her family. Returning to art “felt like a like a fish returning to water”, and she has not looked back. She first started painting in oil while in her 20’s, studying with artist Helen Van Wyke of Rockport, MA. That introduction was the beginning of her life-long love of the oil medium. The study and creation of art is a lifelong journey and a way of life for artist Colleen Vandeventer. It is a never-ending quest to reach the next plateau. But the beauty of a life lived through art is that there is always another plateau to be reached, so the quest never ends and the journey continues. “Each time I place a new canvas on my easel, I approach it with the same trepidation and delight I felt when I first entered the art world. The magic begins, time drops away and you can only be thankful for finding your true passion.” Colleen is a juried artist member of the Providence Art Club, the Cape Cod Art Center and the Oil Painters of America.
